The main character, Xiomara Batista, whose name translates to "ready for war," is almost 16 years old. Since birth, she has been told, "You're not easy to deal with." Xiomara comes from a patriarchal Dominican family, which deeply influences her upbringing and relationships with her parents. "Poet X" is a book written as Xiomara's poetic diary. As we turn the pages, we seem to dive into the difficult, contradictory, aching world of a teenage girl who painfully searches for her own voice. And she finds it, despite the skepticism of friends, misunderstanding from parents, and a crisis of faith.
In delicate contemporary lyricism, the issues that concern modern girls are revealed—from objectification among male peers to misunderstanding in the family and disappointment in traditional values.

Dear Edward
A liner took off from New York's International Airport. Among the passengers is the Adler family: 12-year-old Edward, his parents, and brother. Within a few hours, the plane will crash somewhere in a field in Central Colorado. Only Eddie will survive, and from now on, he will have to learn to live anew. Dear Edward will have to decide whether he is obliged to honor the memory of the victims or if he should live his own life, seek his path, and not try to meet others' expectations and notions of duty. The novel is divided into two parts: one where the reader learns about Edward's long journey to his new self, and the other about the passengers of flight 2977. Knowing how their lives were suddenly interrupted adds decisive, fateful sharpness to the narrative. At the moment when we lose everything, hope remains with us, helping us to move forward.
