With Wi-Fi 5 standard support, the router provides a maximum modulation rate of up to 1166 Mbps (866 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band).

The router is equipped with 3 × Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps), which automatically detect and can operate as both LAN and WAN ports. In repeater mode, WA8021V5 is compatible with Mesh networks and can wirelessly connect with other Huawei products, creating a unified home network with one SSID and providing roaming functionality. Power is supplied via a 12 V / 1 A DC adapter, and the router's maximum power consumption is 8 W.
