Tai ir maigs spīdums, tāpēc izskatās ļoti grezna. Zīdaiņu alpakas vilna ir smalkākie pieaugušo alpakas mati. Tā ir viegla un ļoti mīksta.

Alpaka vilnas šķiedru struktūra ir ļoti smalka, un tās maigums ir salīdzināms ar kašmira vilnu, bet pat vēl maigāks. Alpaka vilna ir pazīstama ar savu izcilo kvalitāti, ir ļoti maiga uz ādas un ir hipoalerģiska. Alpaka vilna ir maigākā alpaka vilna no pirmā pavediena. It has a gentle sheen, making it look very luxurious. Baby alpaca wool is the finest adult alpaca hair. It is lightweight and very soft.
